City of Cambridge Participatory Budgeting

Last night's PB Assembly at the Frisoli Youth Center was a success! 

Idea collection is here! Between December 1-19, 2014, the City will be collecting ideas from YOU about how to spend $500,000 on capital projects to improve the community.  Please read the guidelines about what kinds of projects are eligible before submitting your idea.  

Idea collection starts on Monday, December 1st! 

We've translated our PB Assembly flyer into Kreyòl Ayisyen (Haitian Creole), Português (Portuguese), and Español (Spanish).  Please help us spread the word about Participatory Budgeting by sharing this information with your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and constituents who may feel more comfortable communicating in these languages. 

On November 17^th, the Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee met for the first time to define key elements of Cambridge’s first PB process.  The following individuals are serving as Steering Committee members:

The idea collection phase of Participatory Budgeting is right around the corner! Between December 1-19, 2014, community members will be able to submit ideas for capital projects at several events around the City, as well as through this website and via email, mail, phone, or walk-in. We will post the schedule for the events as soon as it’s finalized.

On October 28th, more than 40 people came together to learn about the new Participatory Budgeting process and how they can get involved in the process.  A great deal of information was distributed.  Check out the meeting documents for yourself and get signed up to get involved!
