Short Description: Install a full-sized sand volleyball court at Buckingham Field! This will provide community members with an opportunity to connect through recreation and fun, while not taking space from existing sport courts.
Long Description: Add a sand outdoor volleyball court to Buckingham Field. This court will provide a community space for recreation. The construction of a dedicated sand court will protect park lawns from the damage of portable nets. Cambridge does not currently have a public volleyball court on city property. This proposal aims to construct a temporary sand volleyball pit before later development for a permanent court has been finalized. A sand volleyball court would be used exclusively for volleyball. The proposal will fund the construction and maintenance of the court.
