Water Fountains in Every Park

Water Fountains in Every Park

Committee: Community Resources

Total Cost: $90,000

Locations: Nine Cambridge City Parks

Short Description:

Install new water fountain/bottle-fillers at up to 9 parks that lack drinking water fixtures. If this initiative wins, funding will be complete for water fountain installation in most of the City owned parks.

Long Description:

Install new water fountain/bottle-fillers at up to nine parks that lack drinking water fixtures. This will ensure that more residents can enjoy free and clean drinking water at their local park.

Installing more drinking fountains will provide Cambridge residents with access to free drinking water as they pass through parks. This would particularly impact people who regularly spend time at parks including young children and their caretakers, the elderly, joggers, and the homeless.

If this proposal passes, the City will install combination water fountain/bottle-fillers at up to nine parks.

I agree with the suggestion to incorporate a ground-level doggie water bowl in this proposal, if it’s a feature that can be added in the implementation stage, should this proposal succeed in being selected!

Surprised this doesn’t exist yet – excellent proposal that I will be supporting! Which parks are missing fountains?

Great idea! Please consider a variant with a dog water bowl at ground level.
