Get Out the Vote for Participatory Budgeting!
The Cambridge Budget Office is seeking volunteers to serve on the Participatory Budgeting (PB) Outreach Team. The PB Outreach Team will engage and help Cambridge residents make their voices heard in the March 7-17, 2024 PB10 vote. This year, Cambridge residents have the opportunity to decide how the city will allocate $2 million to address community needs.
The PB Outreach Team will assist with:
- Organizing community events and promoting PB through their networks and social media,
- Distributing PB flyers, posters, and PB materials around Cambridge
- Committing a minimum of 5 hours to assist with the PB vote
- Working in mobile voting teams during Vote Week in March to increase voter turnout.
If you know of communities that you can help connect with PB (particularly those that are historically underheard or underserved), have ideas on how to increase Cambridge PB voter turnout, or are simply excited about PB, please click the link below to sign up to volunteer!
Volunteer PB Delegates
PB Delegates are essential to Participatory Budgeting. Volunteering is a great opportunity to become a community leader, develop team-building skills, get to know your neighbors, learn about Cambridge, and help make your city a better place.
From October 2023 - February 2024, 70+ PB Delegates worked in four committees to research, assess, and prioritize all of the submitted ideas and ultimately develop the final proposals for the March 2024 PB ballot. Read the PB10 Budget Delegate Guide to find out more about the proposal development process.
Sign-ups to become a PB Delegate are closed for the PB10 cycle. If you are interested in becoming a PB delegate in future cycles, please sign up for our PB email list HERE to receive future volunteer and PB information.
